Family Game Room
Tom Legare and his kids Justin and Kevin are a family who love to spend family time together gaming, and this year they are bringing their family game room to you at the Midwest Gaming Classic! Find out which games they have enjoyed playing together, or sit down and take them on in some of the best games that the whole family can play together!
The focus of The Family Game Room is to "Bring Families Together Electronically", and Tom and his kids will have the following systems that they enjoy playing together on display:
Atari Lynx
The Lynx was released in 1989 and allowed a family to link up several consoles together to keep them gaming against one another on the road or at home! Tom's Lynx collection is one of the largest in the world, and includes a complete collection of every game ever released including multiples so the whole family can play, as well as several prototypes never released!
Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)
Nintendo's first console was a family staple in the 1980s, and it remains a staple of many retro Family Game Rooms today! With games like Donkey Kong, Zelda, and Arkanoid, is open for play to bring back the nostalgia of your early living room memories, or your memories of playing with your kids!
Nintendo Virtual Boy
The Nintendo Virtual Boy may not have gone over that well in the United States with its odd red vector graphics, but it's still a hit in Tom's Family Game Room! Featuring a collection of both U.S. and Japanese games, this is your chance to experience for yourself Nintendo's unique true 3D attempt at a console.
Nintendo 64 (N64)
The N64 was the first console that allowed the entire family to play against each other straight out of the box, as it was introduced with four controller ports right on the console itself! With two N64 consoles including the rare "Pikachu edition" and great family games like Super Smash Bros, Super Mario Kart 64 and more, this is a Family Game Room must!
Nintendo GameCube & Panasonic Q
The follow up to the Nintendo 64 was another great Family Game Room console, and no other Family Game Room has a GameCube collection quite like this one! With four systems in different colors including a very rare Panasonic Q, take on one another in spectacular family games such as including 4-player Super Smash Bros. Melee and Mario Kart: Double Dash and many more!
Sega Genesis
Sega moved into the Family Game Room with the Sega Genesis, and introduced the character of Sonic the Hedgehog who is still a popular character with people of all ages today! If you have never played a Sega Genesis or if you regularly challenged your brother or sister to games on it, you'll want to check out this Family Game Room classic!
Sega GameGear
Sega's GameGear handheld color gaming system competed head-on with Atari's Lynx system in the early 90's and allowed you to hook up two systems together so you could challenge your brother, sister, mother or father to a great game on this unique console! Tom's Family Game Room still features two of these systems that can be linked together, and is open for you to play and enjoy.
Sega Dreamcast
The Dreamcast was the last system that Sega created, and it has a number of spectacular titles that are perfect for the entire family to enjoy together. With four built-in controller ports, this is a perfect way for the whole family to get involved on at the same time!
Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)
The Super Nintendo was a great system to watch your brother play Donkey Kong Country on, or challenge your sister to a race around the Mario Kart circuit, or to watch your father get addicted to Super Mario World! Many consider the SNES the epitome of 2D platforms, and it still is a must-have console for the Family Game Room today!
And more!
Tom's Family Game Room is always growing, expanding and changing, and Tom will probably have even more goodies to bring and show off at the show. Whether you want to stop by to ask what he has found to be the best non-violent games for a system, or just to play a couple games against your father or brother, the Family Game Room is a can't-miss Midwest Gaming Classic Event within an Event!
