Atari Jaguar Festival Returns
Atari Jaguar Festival has a long past. In 1997, the first ever Jagfest event was held in Chicago, Illinois. Gathering together fans of the last Atari home console, Jagfest became a yearly event held in different parts of the country to celebrate the new things that were found for this underdog of a system, as well as a forum for the online community that the Jaguar spawned to get together in person and play some of their favorite games that they had discussed together online.
For 2001, the founders of the Midwest Gaming Classic suggested hosting Jagfest in Milwaukee. Atari Jaguar Festival 2001: Beyond Tempest became the largest stand-alone Jagfest ever held, attracting almost 100 fans from around the world. The organizers of this first event had such a great time that it was determined that another event would be held in 2002. The Midwest Classic was born.
Jagfest would evolve to be included with other shows, so fans could gather at a large event and still play the Jaguar together. Today, the Midwest Gaming Classic is the only event to continue to host a Jagfest section yearly. 2010 will be no different -- although small in scope, the Atari Jaguar Festival section will continue the celebration of the last Atari console, giving show-goers the opportunity to see some rare promotional goodies for the system and play some of the games that the Jaguar is still known for today. This is truly a classic section at the Midwest Gaming Classic, and one you won't want to miss!
