Pinball Tournament to offer IFPA Tournament Spots
Want to qualify to play in the biggest tournament in the world? You'll have your chance by playing well in the 2010 Midwest Pinball Championship!
The IFPA7 World Pinball Championship will be held outside Minneapolis, Minnesota, May 21 - 23, 2010. It is the most prestigious pinball event in the world, with only the top players having been invited to come to the event and compete in a the two-day tournament to determine who is truly the best in the world. Players are invited based on their World Pinball Player Ranking points, and the group is extremely limited.
For the first time ever, the Midwest Gaming Classic will be offering two satellite qualifications to this incredible tournament. This means that you might automatically qualify for an invitation to the IFPA based on your final positioning at the Midwest Gaming Classic! There are two types of Satellite Qualification that will be offered:
One spot will be up for grabs in the A-Division tournament at the 2010 MGC. This satellite event will be open for any player ranked in the World Pinball Player Rankings as of the end of 2009, but did not qualify for IFPA7 through the automatic bid process.
The other spot will be for a 2010 IFPA League Champion Exemption. Besides the A-Division Open tournament, there will be another spot reserved for the highest finisher that was also a representative from an IFPA endorsed league. This satellite event will be open for any player ranked in the World Pinball Player Rankings as ofthe end of 2009, sent as a representative of an IFPA endorse league to the MGC to compete that has not yet qualified for IFPA7 through the automatic bid process. If you are interested, or think that you qualify for this spot, make sure to contact your league President or the IFPA directly so they can confirm it with you.
With these unique additions, the 2010 Midwest Pinball Championship is certain to be the biggest and most challenging yet!
The Midwest Gaming Classic, the trade show where gamers rule, is an annual event that has been held since 2001. The show is open to all interested attendees and includes all aspects of console gaming, computers and arcade video and pinball machines from Pong to the PS3 and more!
