Midwest Gaming Classic 2008
March 29-30 - Olympia Resort and Spa - Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
The 2008 Midwest Gaming Classic was a record setting year in both number of attendees and arcade machines at the show. With over 2600 attendees, 20 vendors and 100 arcade video and pinball machines at the show, 2008 was our busiest year yet! The show also boasted an exciting and diverse line up of speakers and two new "modern classics" tournaments and made a successful transition to an earlier part of the year.
Highlights
Some of the Midwest Gaming Classic 2008 Highlights were:
- The first ever Midwest Gaming Classic Guitar Hero Championship was decided, with the winner taking home a Nintendo Wii console
- With a new machine reward system, the show welcomed over 100 different arcade video and pinball machines
- Walter Day, of Twin Galaxies fame returned to the show to officiate a Rally X high score chase, and spoke to a standing room only crowd about his involvement with the King of Kong documentary, and the accuracy of the documentary itself
- The amazing documentary Tilt: The Battle To Save Pinball was screened at the event, and many people got to see this amazing tale first hand
- A Halo team tournament was held, with the winners receiving the entire Halo soundtrack signed by composer Michael Salvatori
