Juniors Pinball Tournament

If you are 9 or under and want to participate in a pinball tournament, the Midwest Gaming Classic will have just what you’re looking for! Play in a pinball game to see who can get the best score to qualify! After qualifying, four finalists will compete in a head-to-head tournament like the full tournament and will receive certificates.

Juniors may only enter twice times with their highest score counting. Please note: We do ask that any child under the age of 10 ranked in the top 500 WPPR players to not participate in the Pinball Junior Championship. These players are still highly encouraged to participate in the Midwest Pinball Championships.

One of the largest IFPA sanctioned tournaments by player count in the world returns to the Midwest Gaming Classic this year! Qualifying is simple, play five games of pinball and then watch the rankings to see where you land! The top 44 players are invited back on Sunday to compete in a fun playoff format to determine who is the Midwest Pinball Champion! As always, there is no cost to play in the tournament, and we highly encourage you to give it a shot!

The popular Midwest Tetris Championship returns! This is the largest Tetris tournament in the Midwest and one of the longest running ones in the country. If you think you have what it takes to fit pieces into the right spots to eliminate lines and earn lots of points, you’ve come to the right spot! Players will play a qualifying round on the NES version of Tetris, A style. The top 12 people will return to participate in a fun ladder style elimination tournament Sunday! Winners will receive certificates commemorating their play!

Golf… with pinball machines? It’s a fun way to play! Each game has a goal, and you get one “stroke” for each ball you play on your way to get that goal. You may have to play two games to score high enough, or you may get it on your first ball! You will get to pick which half of the field you are going to play on, so choose wisely! As always, play as many times as you want, as long as time allows! All entries must be COMPLETED by 11:30pm. In the case of a tie for first, those players will move to a single ball play-off at that time, with the winner placing top! Winners receive a certificate for their play!

Play with a friend or family member in this unique game! Each player takes one side of the machine and is responsible for controlling it. Can you work together to score the most points? Those that do win at the close of the competition window. There are Friend and Family divisions of play:

Tag Team Friend Play with anyone and see what sort of score you can get! Teams are ranked by top score. Winning team gets a certificate for each player!

When Star Fox was coming out, Nintendo created a special Competition Cart version of the game that timed you for just five minutes and challenged you to get the highest score! Now, many years later, we have one of the original Competition Carts in hand, and are ready for you to try to get your best score! The person with the highest score at the end of the competition time wins a certificate!

How much of the wall can you defeat? When you play version 7 of Super Breakout, the walls keep coming, and you have to keep the ball alive as long as possible to survive! How many points you can score will determine your final placement in this tournament!

Qualify by taking on one of the courses in the iconic Super Mario Kart for the SNES and being one of the top four qualifying scores! The top four scores at the close of qualifying are invited to return at 7pm for an incredible head-to-head Battle Mode challenge! The fourth seed will battle the first seed and the second and third seeds will duke it out in a best two-of-three to determine who the final two are! The top four players all get certificates commemorating their play!

It’s like the original Super Mario Bros with a trick! In this arcade version of the original game, things are a bit harder… and in the release of it for the Switch, Nintendo built in a five minute caravan mode to see how many points you can get in a limited amount of time!

How often can you get the words Home Run to appear, and how far can those shots go? That’s what we’ll be finding out with our Home Run Derby contest from Wii Sports! Winner scores the most home runs out of ten. In the likely case of a tie, total feet of all home runs will serve as the tiebreaker!

Women at the Midwest Gaming Classic will have a chance to play pinball against only other women! Qualifying will take place throughout the day on Saturday using a single machine’s entries from the Midwest Pinball Championship (both qualifying attempts combined), with the top eight women at the end of qualifying facing off in an elimination-style tournament to decide the winner! The top players will receive certificates!
