Survival of the Fastest- show the Classic you’ve got the quickest karting skills in this Playstation classic, and you’ll get the prize!

Time attack qualifiers will be open from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. The top 8 qualifying times at that time will face off in the CTR finals. At the end of the competition time the winner will take home a certificate!

The Midwest Gaming Classic Women’s Tournament will be held on Saturday, April 4. The event is free for women to play. Qualifying will be held from 10 AM to 6 PM with playoffs beginning immediately after qualifying ends at 6 PM. Each player will be given two entries to be played on one game. The highest score on that game will be used to determine overall ranking. If there are less than 28 players that participate in the tournament, the top four ranked players will be eligible for playoffs. If there are more than 28 players that that participate in the tournament, the top eight ranked players will be eligible for playoffs. Playoffs will be played on two games with four player groupings and point scoring 4-2-1-0 based on final ranking. The highest seeded player of each group will be able to choose from games available or choose their playing order. The two players with the most points after two games will continue and the remaining two players are eliminated. If there is a significant tie, the tied players will play a one-game playoff on a game of the tournament director’s choosing. Playoffs will continue until only two players are left for the final 2-game round.

If you are 9 or under and want to participate in a pinball tournament, the Midwest Gaming Classic will have just what you’re looking for! Play in a pinball game to see who can get the best score to qualify! After qualifying, four finalists will compete in a head-to-head tournament like the full tournament and will receive certificates.

Juniors may only enter twice times with their highest score counting. Please note: We do ask that any child under the age of 10 ranked in the top 500 WPPR players to not participate in the Pinball Junior Championship. These players are still highly encouraged to participate in the Midwest Pinball Championships.

Come see one of the most fun Cosplay contests around on Saturday night at 7pm at the main stage! Svengoolie and Bright Eyes Cosplay co-host this fun event! With prizes for the best male, female, and group costumes, and a NEW handmade category with a $1000 prize, this is a fun event to watch or participate in! Entry for main categories is free. Presented by Jersey Jack Pinball, one of the largest IFPA sanctioned tournaments by player count in the world returns to the Midwest Gaming Classic! We’ve tweaked the format to give players so they choose which of six machines to play, with their five best counting toward qualifying position! The top 44 players are invited back on Sunday to compete in a fun playoff format to determine who is the Midwest Pinball Champion! As always, there is no cost to play in the tournament, and we highly encourage you to give it a shot!

The Midwest Tetris Championship is now a fully endorsed event for the Classic Tetris World Championships! Play NES Tetris and score points to qualify as one of the top 8 players in the Midwest, and then face off using the official CTWC style finals methods in the oldest large-scale Tetris tournament in the World! Winners will get a free entry ticket to the CTWC at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo as well a one hour rental station to qualify at CTWC!

Golf… with pinball machines? It’s a fun way to play! Each game has a goal, and you get one “stroke” for each ball you play on your way to get that goal. You may have to play two games to score high enough, or you may get it on your first ball! You will get to pick which half of the field you are going to play on, so choose wisely! As always, play as many times as you want, as long as time allows! All entries must be COMPLETED by 11:30pm. In the case of a tie for first, those players will move to a single ball play-off at that time, with the winner placing top! Winners receive a certificate for their play!

The iconic Space Invaders for the Atari 2600 will be set up for play in a variety of ways for showgoers, including special divisions for singles, doubles, and families! Top score at the end of the competition for each category is the winner! Here are the different ways you can compete:

Space Invaders Single: Take on a seriously challenging version of Space Invaders for the 2600, as we select one of the various game variations for you to show your skills in. High score wins a certificate!

Space Invaders Double: Double your fun with a friend! Take on Space Invaders as a pair, trying to get your best score possible! Winning team gets a certificate for each player!

Space Invaders Family: Make it a family affair! Work with your child, or have two kids take on the challenge together – so long as one of the players is under the age of 10!
