Andres Canals teaches step by step digital artistry for aspiring artists! Andres has created work as the art director for Epic Quest Productions for more than five years. During this time, Andres has also created artwork for numerous RPG games and concept art for miniatures and films. He has worked in varied genres including fantasy, sci-fi, post-apocalypse, cyberpunk, and modern. Game titles include DragonWars of Trayth (Pathfinder), Reclamation RPG, Wreck-Age, End Times, Elemental Lands, Dragons at Dawn & Twilight, Chaos & Alchemy (1st Edition), Psionics: The Next Stage in Human Evolution, Systems Malfunction, SPLINTER and many more.

Ben Heck: Single Board Computer Workshop

Ben Heck guides workshop participants in the assembly of a pre-designed single board computer based on the classic arcade and computer processor the Z80! The workshop is intended to teach how computers work, how they access memory and how logic gates are used to arrange memory. Each participant will get to take home the Z80 computer they assemble. The single board computer is fairly small and can be worn as a badge during the convention. Ben will help anyone who is having trouble soldering so everyone is assured a completed project to take home.

Erik Hawley: Hands-On Working with Thermal Plastic

Erik Hawley teaches participants to learn and practice techniques for working with thermal plastic. Each participant will leave with a small item they will manufacture during the workshop. Tools/materials provided. Samples of different types of thermal plastic will be present. This is a very hands-on and participants will finish the session with enough experience to confidently craft items out of thermal plastic.

Harold Johnson: Game Design Workshop

Learn to create role playing games from the master of game design, Harold Johnson! Harold wrote the best selling Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan expansion for TSR in 1980, and worked to help create the original Dungeon Masters Guide. By 1982, Johnson was promoted to Director of Games Research & Development for TSR games, supervising the writing staff and heading the Acquisition Department. During this tieme, he also co-created the Dragonlance line, and worked on other product lines, such as Forgotten Realms, Spelljammer, and Ravenloft among others.

At the Midwest Gaming Classic, Harold will be pulling back the curtain on what he looks for in a design, tips for creating excitement, and even tips that might help catch the eye of a publishing house!
